The blockhouse is appropriate for 10 km von Leksand into the small village Alvik. Alviken is a small part of lake Siljan, and we see the water from the house. There are many nature activities possible: Move, fahrad, pherde, bath, canoeing and kajak and also near to many culture activitees in Leksand, Raettvik, Mora and Falun.

The region at the Siljansee is often called the "heart" of Sweden, because one probably finds everything here what makes Sweden so singular. From here the famous red little houses come, here live still the old Swedish traditions and the famous red "Dala horse" in manual work are carved here and affectionately painted. With Siljan many famous persons have lived: Zorn, Karlfelt, Carl Larsson, Gustav Wasa, Hugo Alfven, Mora nisse, Axel Munthe....
