Das Schmiedehaus (Kaleja maja) is located in a quiet street of Vecliepaja, 500 m from the sea. The house is 10 minutes walk from the large covered market with fresh food and local crafts, from the long sandy beach and all historical centres. Liepaja was once the summer resort of the Russian Tsars and the ice free port for their Baltic fleet. The white sandy beach offers numerous activities in the summer: swimming, sun bathing, collecting small pieces of amber, long walks. Liepaja is easily accessible by car, bus, train or plane. English, German, Russian, Latvian are spoken by the owners who will welcome you warmly in the Latvian style and show you round the house and your accommodation.
