Due to its central location, the major cities and lakes in Northern Italy can be visited as day trips with one-two hour drive, thus avoiding expensive hotel stops overnight. Use our house as a base, 40 minutes drive from major railway station and the A1 motorway. Viviana’ s B&B is a delightful cottage, tastefully restored, ideal for couples, families or a group of friends, and offers a family atmosphere with Italian hospitality. The rooms, bright, comfortable, quiet, are south facing with panoramic breathtaking views of the Apennines Mountains and Pietra di Bismantova.

Castelnovo ne' Monti is the main hub and virtual nerve centre in the entire Apennine Mountains of Reggio Emilia. The jewel in its crown is the magnificent Bismantova plateau which really captures the tranquil beauty of the Apennine Mountains. Here, history is inexorably linked with the name of Countess Matilda of Canossa. Castles and parish churches are the sign of this age, that left clear traces and witnessing even in local customs.
